Actor Story
Chris Vaughn is an American filmmaker, singer-songwriter, and author known for his work on Feeling Lucky, The Fifth Chair, and Lucky Bastard. Born and raised in New Jersey, Vaughn’s early life was shaped by a tumultuous upbringing in a broken home, which later became a significant influence on his storytelling and music. He first gained recognition as a musician with his debut album For Those That Have Ears, featuring tracks used in films such as Stiletto (starring Tom Berenger).
Vaughn’s artistic journey began as a young visual artist, earning acceptance into an adult art program at age nine under the mentorship of his 4th-grade teacher. During his teenage years, he experimented with poetry and music, forming the band Grain with longtime friend Tom Cece. His passion for storytelling eventually expanded into filmmaking, where he focuses on deeply personal stories that explore themes of faith, family, and redemption.
As the founder of The Chris Vaughn Company, Vaughn continues to develop projects that merge his creative vision with his Christian faith. His films often reflect his own struggles with fatherhood, reconciliation, and cultural shifts. Feeling Lucky is a heartfelt father-son story about reconnecting through art and creativity, while The Fifth Chair and Lucky Bastard offer darker, introspective explorations of life’s challenges and the search for grace.
